“Dock Dave” Draper has over forty years of construction experience, from building underground tunnels and forts as a child in the north east to constructing complex log homes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Dave began his formal career in 1969 in New England, working as a carpenter for a local construction company. Since then he has built custom frame and log homes, trellises, decks and docks everywhere from Alaska, Washington and California to Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Florida
Over the years Dave has become known for many things, not the least of which is his unique ability to cope wood - an all but lost art-form among today’s skilled labor - and his acute understanding of boat docks, developed during cold Michigan winters, where he was expected to help lake dwellers dismantle theirs each year.
As a part of the build team for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and while honing his wakeboarding skills, Dave saw a need for skilled marine craftsmen in the greater Orlando area. Two years later Dave decided to set up shop as the premiere builder of custom decks, docks and boathouses aimed at providing superior quality, personalized service and rigid attention to detail. The rest, as they say, is history.
